Connecting
Section titled “Connecting”Method: Admin API Key or Analytics API Key
This connection requires a Console organization or a Claude Enterprise plan. A personal Anthropic account has no cost data to report and can’t create either key type below.
Provide exactly one of the two keys, depending on your plan:
- Console plan: go to console.anthropic.com → Settings → Admin API keys → Create admin key. Grant the “View cost reports” scope. This option only appears once your account has an organization set up under Settings → Organization, and only the org owner can create the key.
- Claude Enterprise plan: go to claude.ai → Organization Settings → API → enable public API
access → create an Analytics API key with the
read:analyticsscope. - In Plutus, paste the key into the matching field — Admin API Key for a Console plan, Analytics API Key for Claude Enterprise. Leave the other field blank.
- Save the connection. Plutus calls the Cost Report API to pull daily spend by model.
No organization? A regular API key (sk-ant-api03-…) will not work here and always fails with “invalid x-api-key” — this connection needs a Console org or Claude Enterprise plan. Fill in exactly one key — Admin API Key for Console/API-only organizations, Analytics API Key for Claude Enterprise. Enterprise data is only available from 2026-01-01 onwards. Want per-person/per-team dollar chargeback? Anthropic has no per-API-key cost endpoint, so Plutus reports real per-key data as token counts only (Identity breakdown) — for actual dollar chargeback, create one Anthropic Workspace per person or team; Plutus already reports real per-workspace spend today (Account breakdown).
