Connecting

This is the one event source that isn’t about something you did. A provider raising a price, deprecating an instance family or running short on capacity moves your bill with nothing in your deploy history to explain it — News fills that gap.
- Find the RSS or Atom feed for each source you want to track. Most cloud providers publish a “What’s New”, release-notes, changelog or status feed, and most trade publications offer one.
- In Plutus, go to Event Sources → News and add each feed URL. Up to 10 feeds are read per sync.
- Optionally, give a feed its own keywords — an item from that feed is kept only if it matches one of them. A feed with no keywords of its own falls back to the global keyword list, and the global list (if also empty) falls back to Plutus’s built-in cost-relevance filter (pricing, deprecation, capacity and outage language), so a high-volume vendor feed doesn’t bury your chart in launch announcements.
- Click Save feeds, then Sync now to pull matching items onto your cost charts.
There’s no credential to enter — the feed URL is the configuration.
Items from a feed whose host maps to a cost source your account has enabled are marked as vendor announcements and tagged with that cost source; everything else lands as industry news. A news item sitting next to a cost spike is a coincidence until you decide otherwise — these markers are never used to suppress an anomaly alert on your behalf.
Because a feed’s volume is set by its publisher rather than by your own activity, syncs are capped per feed and per run regardless of how much a feed publishes.
