What Plutus imports

Connecting

Method: Cloud API Key (HTTP Basic)

1. In the Confluent Cloud Console, open the menu in the top-right corner and go to API keys > Add API key.
2. Choose the Cloud resource management scope. A key scoped to a single Kafka cluster can’t read billing data.
3. Grant the key to a principal with the OrganizationAdmin or BillingAdmin role. Costs are reported for the whole organization, so a key tied to an environment-scoped principal returns nothing.
4. Copy the API key ID and secret. Confluent shows the secret only once, at creation.
5. In Plutus, paste the API key ID and secret, and select the currency your Confluent invoice is denominated in. Confluent’s billing API reports amounts as bare numbers with no currency field, so Plutus can’t detect this automatically. Once the connection has synced, the currency can’t be changed — spend already stored was converted at this currency’s rate on each charge’s date. To change it later, remove and re-add the connection.

Notes

Confluent’s cost data lags usage by up to 72 hours, so the last few days fill in over time. Each sync re-reads its whole trailing window, so late-arriving lines are picked up automatically — no action needed.
