Method: Personal Access Token

This connects your GitHub organization’s billing usage as spend data. It’s separate from the “GitHub” event source, which annotates charts with PR merges and releases and doesn’t report spend.

Your GitHub organization must be on GitHub’s Enhanced Billing Platform. If it isn’t, the billing usage report this connection reads isn’t available.

  1. In GitHub, go to Settings → Developer settings → Personal access tokens and create a new fine-grained personal access token.
  2. Scope the token to your organization.
  3. Under organization permissions, grant Administration with read-only access. This is what grants access to the billing usage report.
  4. In Plutus, enter your GitHub organization name (the my-org in github.com/my-org) and paste the token.
